Experience

When I started DELVE, my only goal was survival: pay the bills, keep growing, and try not to lose my mind. For years, I wasn’t sure if this thing would work.

Starting something new – a job, managing media, sitting through your first QBR – can be brutal. The uncertainty, the imposter syndrome, the quiet Googling of acronyms mid-meeting, just surviving… been there.

But at some point, survival shifts into confidence. Not because we finally have it all figured out (spoiler: we won’t). But because relentless action creates clarity.

Here’s what I learned: keep moving. Keep executing. Eventually, we find ourselves in a place we didn’t expect – but maybe exactly where we were meant to be.

You got there because of your determination not to give up, and your relentless drive to keep going.

What matters more: hitting the goal, or refusing to quit?

Reflection

None of us were born exceptional. But all of us were born capable.

Being exceptional isn’t a birthright – it’s a choice. A tough, messy, beautiful, and often exhausting choice.

Am I there yet? Hell no. I’ll probably be figuring it out forever.

But weirdly, that’s a relief. The game never ends – we just get better at playing it.

So what is the game? Small, steady steps. No shortcuts. No ‘easy’ button. Just showing up and putting in the reps. Keeping going.

How do we climb mountains? By putting one foot in front of the other, all the way to the top. How can I push myself to be a top 1% marketer? Same method.

No magic, no hacks – just keep on going, every day.

What’s one step you can take today to be exceptional in one area of your life?

Action

Want to make exceptional progress in your Business ‘life’? Try this:

Step 1: Get out of your Comfort Zone – The first time you try something new, you’ll suck. The second time, you’ll still suck. The hundredth? You might be decent. The difference between masters and amateurs isn’t skill – it’s the willingness to keep on going long enough to get good.

Step 2: Learn to love ‘stumbling on’ – You might not know exactly where you’re going, but as long as you’re moving, you’re going forward. Eventually you’ll find the way to the right opportunity. Success is not about talent. It’s about relentlessness.

Step 3: Create more Value in your role – Be undeniable. Whether it’s lifting heavier weights or becoming a stronger leader, the rule is the same: never give up. You’ll win in the end. Maybe it won’t be the definition of ‘win’ that you set for yourself when you started, but it will be a ‘win’.

Step 4: Move Up Faster  – People who don’t stop will move up faster. Keep on going. That’s the game.

Exceptional impact requires obsessive effort. Are you ready to be really restless?

Success in business – especially digital marketing – isn’t about being the smartest. It’s about being the last one standing.

Most campaigns fail. Most ads flop. Most content gets ignored. But the ones who win? They test, tweak, and try again. Relentlessness isn’t just an attitude; it’s a strategy.

A study in Harvard Business Review found that persistence in A/B testing can increase conversion rates by over 30%. But most marketers give up after a few failed attempts. Same with McKinsey’s research on digital transformation: companies that iterate aggressively see 2x the revenue growth. The lesson? The market doesn’t reward ideas. It rewards endurance.

Digital marketing is a game of compounding returns. The algorithm favors consistency. Brand trust builds over years. Customer loyalty is earned through repetition. Seth Godin calls it “the dip” – the painful middle where most quit. But the ones who push through? They dominate.

Every viral brand was once ignored. Every high-ROI campaign started as a dud. The best marketers aren’t the most creative – they’re the most relentless. They don’t stop when it’s hard. They stop when they win. And then they start the next thing.
